Location: The Island of Ios in Greece:
As the afternoon light begins to fade over Ios, the harbor slowly transitions into the soft warmth of evening. The still water reflects the golden light while ferries glide quietly into the port below the island’s whitewashed homes.
Earlier that day my husband and I had spent hours enjoying the bright Greek sun along the coast. By evening, the vibrant blues of the sea softened into warmer tones as the village prepared for the quiet rhythm of night.
Sitting on the balcony overlooking the harbor, the atmosphere felt peaceful. The bright afternoon colors began to fade as the sun cast its golden rays onto the hills and white buildings. The atmosphere was changing. The colors went from vibrant and exciting to warm and inviting. It was quiet. No loud sounds of groups disembarking. Only the sounds of distant chatter from opened windows nearby. Families preparing for an evening in; for a home-cooked dinner at home.
This photograph is part of my collection of peaceful coastal moments captured while traveling the world. My hope is that when you display this print in your home, it brings a sense of calm and transports you to the moment it was taken.
Available in 3 Landscape sizes: 20x30, 24x36, and 30x40 inches.
