Gentle Ascent to Oia

Location: Oia on Santorini in Greece

High above the water, the village of Oia clings to the cliffs of Santorini, offering sweeping views across the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea. 

Reaching this viewpoint required a long climb up the steep steps from the harbor below. Early in the climb we encountered the island’s famous donkeys navigating the narrow path, a reminder of the traditional ways people once moved through these cliffside towns. 

When we finally reached the top and looked out across the sea, the view made every step worth it.

This photograph is part of my collection of peaceful coastal moments captured while traveling the world. My hope is that when you display this print in your home, it brings a sense of calm and transports you to the moment it was taken.
