Santorini's Iconic Blue Domes

Location: Oia on Santorini in Greece

Perched above the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea, the famous blue domes of Santorini are one of the most recognizable scenes in Greece. Whitewashed buildings glow in the sunlight while the vibrant domes stand out against the endless blue horizon. The most photographed blue domes on the island of Santorini are the two churches of Agios Spiridonas and Anastaseos. 

I wandered through the winding streets of Oia searching for this iconic view.  Up and down the narrow streets, weaving between people’s homes and hotels. Passing by plenty of hotels admiring their on-deck jacuzzis with incredible views.

Some people only get to vacation here; others get to live here permanently. When I finally reached this vantage point, the scene felt even more magical than I had imagined.

This photograph is part of my collection of peaceful coastal moments captured while traveling the world. My hope is that when you display this print in your home, it brings a sense of calm and transports you to the moment it was taken.
