Cappadocia, the land of hot air balloons. Located in Turkey (new official name, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti). There are two experiences I was hoping to have in Cappadocia, one in a hot air balloon flying high in the sky, and the other from the ground looking up and being completely surrounded by these massive balloons.

Our hot air balloon flight was both thrilling and peaceful at the same time. The morning following our ride up in the sky, I woke up at dawn, went to the rooftop of our hotel, and experienced something magical. Being at eye level with the fairy chimneys and seeing the balloons floating above them gave a different perspective than from up above. I felt like I was on the set of a movie scene. Except it wasn’t a movie. It was my life.
